Babbles  Inside  A  Bubble

        It is mid-afternoon and the sun gleams under a dull grey sky. The drizzle sheds clear crystals of water. A light breeze accentuates the coolness in the air to my spacious window. My eyes gaze at the golden shower tree, Cassia Fistula, the flamboyant yellow blossoms and the lustrous leaves framing the skyline. Impish kids beeline under the shade, sport a broad grin and blow bubbles of myriad colours. Small bubbles join to become a big bubble. I try to catch one, but in vain.
       Oh! My goodness! What do I see? Is it real? A tiny one-eyed bubble winks, stretches out its arms, engulfs me and entices me into a path of gloomy darkness. I feel lost in a Paradise. I hold my breath; wish myself to be dispersed into a hundred thousand pieces among the fluffy clouds. Pyramids, Castles, Snowy-flake Mountains, Serene Streams, Trees-dwarf and giant-like whirl before me, sprinkle my mind with showers of ecstasy. My ingenious stranger lands down with me. (My mind longs for a parachute and not a bubble). He hops along slopes filled with daffodils and marigolds. My robust companion sings happily, “Men may come, men may go, But I go on forever.”
        Enchantment and exuberance springs within me. What a lovely sight it is! My eyes relish a sweet delicacy of books piled one upon another-Gulliver’s Travels, David Copperfield, Hamlet, Emma, Waiting for Godot, Animal Farm, Divine Comedy, Fairie Queene…
        At the farthest end, I visualize a string of familiar faces. Shakespeare, Milton, Wordsworth, Frost-verses crowning their halo. Addison, Lamb, Bacon, Chetan Bhagat dining at their wit and humour. Seneca, Marlowe and Webster defense the importance of moral conflict in tragedy to Simone de Beauvoir and Kate Millet. .Achebe, Patrick White, Coetzee indulge in a heated debate with Tagore and Sarojini Naidu. In an exquisite corner, I find Donne and Marvell in their quirky exploration of abstract similes and metaphors beside me. Coffee-houses of a Utopian world!
             My amiable buddy Mr,Bubble bumps against a thorny bush. Alas! He vanishes forever. Oh my God! My charming Romeo is gone. Oops… Sobs and tears flood my inquisitive eyes. Perplexed for a moment, I sense a magic spell upon me. I find an angel with a mesmerizing smile, holding a glass of lime juice. My mother!
              I wake up from my ‘adorable dream’ of a cozy nap. On my study table, R.J.Rees’ book flutters gracefully. My hand reaches for the page, ’Why we study Literature?’ I peep inside and outside searching Mr.Bubble, who cheered and enlightened my spirits. My lips murmur Oscar Wilde’s words, “Literature always anticipates life. It does not copy it, but moulds it to its purpose”.

This is a photograph of me

  Today I‘m the C.E.O. of one of the famous multinational companies, yesterday I was a question mark with no identity, no family, no residence. How did I come to this position? Was it luck or was it my destiny? No answer.
   June 2 is my birthday. Is that the day I was born? I don’t know. For I’m an orphan sans birth date. Then why is it June 2. I know you are puzzled. Yes. I consider that day as my birthday because that was the day my school reopened. That was the day I met her. And that was the day I was reborn!
   What did she do to me? Was she my friend? Was she my classmate? No. she was my fifth standard class teacher with a calm, composed, serene smiling face. Her voice was no sweet but it was a melody for me. Her name is Rachel. I hated that name as I was bullied by a girl by that name. I named her Angel.

    I forgot to tell what she did to me. She came to me and touched my hair and said comb your hair. I said yes. But the next day too my hair was unkempt. She said again. I said yes. Again I went in the same way because I didn’t have anyone to comb my hair. She did not get angry she took me to her room and taught me how to comb. That was a magical moment.
    Next day I combed my hair as she said. Everybody in the class said I was beautiful. That was the first time I heard such words said to me. She came to class and smiled at me. I too stared to have a smile on my face every day. She changed my way of dressing, my handwriting and me. I became a new person. Then I decided, let her name be Rachel.
  The next year was like a fall on my head. Yes, I was promoted to sixth standard and Rachel miss will not be my teacher. I wished I could have failed in my fifth standard. Though I was at high school my love for her did not decrease. It grew greater and greater. I did not talk to her much but I did not stop seeing her.
   I finished my higher secondary course too. Then I went to her and thanked her. She gave me some suggestions for higher studies. I pursued. I got placed in a good job. Two years later I went to meet her. But she was not at school. People said she resigned her job. I was shocked.
   I got her address and went to her house. It was cute little house. I went with all eagerness had chocolates for her children. I saw miss Rachel. She was in a rocking chair with a photograph in her hand. I could hear her. She was crying. Oh my goodness! I went inside. I called her. She dried her tears put the photograph aside and welcomed me with the same smile.
   I felt relaxed. I gave her the chocolates and enquired about her children. She laughed. I was puzzled. She continued. She said she was a spinster.  Then she asked about me. After a brief conversation she went inside the kitchen. I looked around the house there was no paintings or photographs on the wall except a picture of Jesus Christ. Then with a sort of curiosity I took the photograph she had when I entered.” Oh” I cried. That a photograph of me and Rachel miss. It was taken on Children’s Day when I recited a poem on stage.
    She came out of the kitchen and saw me crying. She then said about her life.” I am also an orphan I knew you are one too. This is the photograph of me”
   That was it. Then we both stayed at a house , I became a C.E.O. and she the teacher to her own school to illuminate many minds. That’s my life.

                                                                                                                                                A.J.Bernita

Is Family not a blessing of God?
Family is the precious creation of God after His creation of the world. It is the incomparable fortune, which the humankind gets to possess the status of highest social being. Love, trust, communication, being together, sharing, understanding, listening, caring and space means the most profound and valuable institution with a simple and humble title FAMILY.
Family values are deservedly praised. A well – functioning family is a microcosm of society, as it should work. Unfortunately, the contemporary habits of socialization and work have surely misled the attitudes towards living by a harmonious family relationship. The crucial reason behind such a formal family relationship is the lack of emotional assistance among the family members.
“Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty,” says Blessed Mother Teresa. As Mother said, a child who does not have a family for love and care is the most appalling poverty, which a nation faces. The pain of an orphan cannot be described in words. A void of terrible loneliness haunts the children who happen to be like orphan when parents are alive. Parents going after materialistic comfort forget that their children are precious treasures of love and care than luxuries, and vagaries of life.
There lays a big responsibility on each individual of a family  to  maintain the family bonding in spite of the obstacles and  outer forces that influence him/her to break such a family bonding, heaven’s gift. Another reason for the breach is greed for money wherein a member leaves behind all the family values for achieving materialistic dreams. Moreover, family members are prone to disintegrate very often as and when they become self-independent. Disintegration is not a problem, but lack of family oneness is surely a threatening problem to humankind.
Having a lifelong commitment for living by a sense of trust and honor with other family members; open and honest communication about important matters such as financial planning, how to spend free time, what sort of social ties to emphasize; practicing mutual love – an abiding, deep warmth and affection towards other family members. A love that smiles at each other’s imperfections, not scorns them, a love that is eager to serve; are the primary concerns, which are worth mentioning to bring families together.
Family can never be judgemental.
Family is the one who never laugh at the weakness of its members.
 Family is the only place where one gets love and respect.
Having a place to go is a home.
Having someone to love is a family.
Having both is a blessing.
Definitely, Family is a blessing of God!

MY DAD

When I was small I know
There were two hands to carry me anywhere.
When I was about to walk I know
There was a hold on my hand wherever I went.
When I was about to speak I know
My dad was there to hear anything from me.
When I was in school I know
There was a soul to help me through my assignments.
When I was in my teens I know
There was my dad to drop and pick me to and from anywhere.

Dad! You gave every part of you to bring me up.
Now I am in college and I know
There is always a place for me in your heart;
Being a daughter I feel upset.
Because when I am in my twenties I don't know
Whether I will have a place in your home.

But whatever happens, You will still
Be my adorable dad!

What is the Colour of Nature?

Oh my! I exclaimedAnd widened my eyes
As I caught sightof the widespread
Evening sky - exhibiting
Various colours in it.
It is obvious I realized -
If there are different hues
In humans why should the sky be only blue?Then came a question.
Why should God create
Everything and Everyone in
A different way.
Beginning from our appearance,                                                                                                                                                                                            Language, mannerism and thought;                                                                                                      Then I got the answer.                                                                                                                            God too has different tastes,                                                                                                                    Like each one of us.                                                                                                                                 Thank God for that!

A Memory

Days have passed like a flower
That fades away soon.
But the memories cover
My mind like a moon;

That conceals the darkness
And gives a pleasant night,
I find a likeness
For you at a great height.

You sing in my heart
About the days we passed.
The song will never depart
And it has caused-

A lovely pain in me;
And that's our friendship's key!

Heartfelt

Thou created me, as an image of thee,
To the world expected to be full of glee,
Thy image is in me and in that of the poem,
Is something missing in this little Tome?

Have you ever watched him with your spy,
Thy should hear the hymn of cry in his sty,
This world of scam is not of my thought,
Does not man think, what life has taught?

The earth is big with two extreme poles,
But the heart, filled with horror is a hole,
Father, I was born with the original sin,
Is this the world and life for me to be in?

The thoughts pour as branches in a tree
To express is a big deal because we are not free.

RAIN - THE GIFT OF NATURE

The sound of the shower above,
The smell of the soil below
The sky turns dim all around,
The water droplets fall on the ground
It's raining!

Children rush out to home
To let their paper boats,
Birds rush to their nests,
To stay secure
It's raining!

The trees get cleansed
The whole environment too
And request
mankind
"Not To Pollute Nature"

Nature shows its care
But do we?

The spirit of freedom

I can feel the wind on my face,

As I set a lively pace;

Along meadows and lanes I race,

With admirable subtlety and grace;

I run from suffering and sorrow,

Which are rooted deep in the in the marrow;

I glance at the deer that graze,

A sight that sets the fire of freedom ablaze!

With all I have, forward I move -

My perseverance, courage and mettle to prove;

An unleashed force which knows no bounds,

That takes me far from these hellish hounds;

I race for the world to see

That I am now irrevocably free!

                                                           SWEET MEMORIES……….

Memory is a gift of God
The only pleasure that exists forever
That can be relished again and again

Stays close to heart and
It leaves us never.
Heals all our pain.

There are memories that teach,
Guide us in right path
And warn us at right time.

Its a treasure not for search.
It has no death
And makes us happy every time.

It is a kind of selfish joy
That is invisible to others.
Try to realize the power of memory
And Go ahead in life forgetting sorrows!

FELT THE UNFELT, SEEN THE UNSEEN

My love
Oh! My love
You don’t have time to visit me….
Do you??
You disturb me in dreams…
I don’t know who you are
Oh!... my heart,,,
Don’t go behind though that’s my love
Who’s that to me???
I can’t lie that I don’t want to hold your hands
That I don’t want to be with you
That I don’t want to be with you
That I don’t want to lean my head on your bosom.

Oh…my heart,
never go behind my love
But who is that to me?
My heart feels to float just like clouds
My thoughts whirl to see you
I can feel strange when
I think about you…
I bloom in merry
When I hear your unheard name

Oh… my love,
Please tell me…
Where you are…
Just response to this
How can a circle be without radius
Yes,,, you are my radius…
Without you, I’ll be nowhere….
But I’m confused…
Why don’t you feel me…??!!
Why don’t you come to me?
      … to find out my smiles
      … to wipe my tears
      …to vanish my worries
      … to dislocate my loneliness
I ask you to favour me
To find explanation
                For my plight…
Of always remembering you
                  Though you are felt as unfelt
                                  by me…
                 Though you are seen as unseen
                                 by me…
still waiting for your accompany….
  Just to hear from you, “YOU ARE MINE, MY DEAREST!!!”

The New World

There is life and beauty in everything!
Nature flaunts her wealth and beauty before the earthling.
It revives the mind,
Making it leave all miseries behind;
The soul sighs in tranquillity,
For the world is breathtaking in all its simplicity;
The trees are bright and gay,
Blooming and mirthful in their sway;
The leaves bear droplets of rain;
The birds dry their feathers in vain;
Squirrels scamper and scurry,
To find shelter in a hurry;
The busy mortals rush inside,
Casting not a glance aside,
At the glorious new world that lay,
Right in their way!

 HARMONY

Some are black and some are white
Some are wrong and some are right
Some get rich and some stay poor
Some make peace and some make war
Some are yellow and some are brown
Some climb up and some come down
Some go far and some fall behind
Some are mean and some are kind
Some are reds and some are greens
Some stay quiet and some make scenes
Some say yes and some say no
Some guide how to pursue

But underneath our different skin
The same heart beats, deep within
For brothers, sisters all are we
Meant to live in HARMONY

                OH! Nature……. Dont  Cry

Oh..! dear nature…….dont weep

                      I am there for you……

I    hear your  cry……so deep

                      I  am eager to help you,

Because   you were the one

                       who consoled me.

You  deviated  me  when  I  was made fun

                      As a weaker sex.

I cried  before you when I was exploited

                    You inspired me to sing songs

Which made me to feel  good

                     concealing  all  my  sorrows

 You were a guide to me..

                      a teacher and  a philosopher to me,

 When I was alone  at sea

                      Of  confusions in my life.

  Now I came to see you.

                      I am sad at your present condition.

  I hoped to see you in hues

                       But  you are striving hard to live.

   I am glad that I got a chance

                        To  revive your glory.

    I  can work hard to grow your plants

                        I can make you alive

     Through the lesson you taught me

                          love  and help without expecting anything”.

      That lesson has made me to stand free

                          To  help you now.

       I am sure that I cant help you alone

                           So I call my friends to accompany

        This may be a wonderful chance to show our gratitude

                            Here we unite together to sustain the ecosystem.!!

Corruption - The Epidemic

Tell the world who you are;
Show them clear that you’re at war!
With all the evils that exist,
Those which man cannot resist;
Bribery, corruption, hatred and greed,
Which many a man doth lavishly feed;
Corruption is the son of greed,
That lures a mortal towards a filthy deed;
Its grasp and touch seem immortal!
It fetters child and man alike,
Who are addicted to its venomous strike;
The poor get poorer.
The rich get richer.
For greed is a fickle Titan,
Who is never satisfied;
You can shine your light for all to see,
And show the dark world all they can be;
For if this disease does grow tall,
Each and every man shall fall!
